It used to be my school girl horror- whoever wore short trousers were deemed totally unfashionable on the playground, now the ultra trendy wear them just so. Ok so it has been a look from 2010 onwards but now it is fully cultivated and on every catwalk, for men especially, so you will see a lot more of these trousers.

Mad women? Old Hollywood glamour today

The success of the series Mad Men has helped put 50s style back to the forefront. For some it has never left- heres a couple of ladies who rock the old style, with their pin up curls and draped in diamonds, is there no better era to recreate? "I advocate glamour" says Dita Von Teese, we would say she is glamours spokeswoman!!

Men and fashion

Men get a raw deal in the fashion stakes. While we have pretty gowns in a multitude of colours, styles and shapes for special events it's just the standard suit for our other half. And for the non special occasions there is usually a lack of colour too. Shame. It is getting better though as the "metrosexual" man rises. One more attuned to fashion and likely to brave the odd trend that is not a pair of jeans and tshirt.

So lets applause the following for showing it is not just us women who should get excited about clothing!!!

When we think of trendy, we think of the likes of David beckham who has set the trend for many a haircut or the born stylish kanye west. These men are the first on the fashion battleground donning a sharp suit or whatever else is "in" that season but adopting it in their own way.

The slightly more eccentric dressers like and andre 3000 and david arquette should be commended for their experimental ways which brighten our day.

She is kooky and not at all shy, we love the feisty Grace Jones and she is always in a league of her own when it comes to those outfits of hers. Grace hit the big time in the 80s with the en vogue androgynous look and has stayed in our hearts ever since.

A muse for many, and boy she has barely aged. To follow in Grace's footsteps, you have to think out of the box in terms of clothing, think of it entirely as an art form and ignore comfort and any bewildered stares!! Hooded flowing dresses, leathers, fur (fake please!) it is all about texture and fancy hats. A plain trouser suit is very Grace Jones.

A Stila beauty must for those cheeks

I was sooo excited when last year i heard Stila was back to the UK, you can get it in some Boots and on Asos.com and many other places I am sure. One of my prized make up items is the versatile colour compact, "convertible color". This is a lovely blusher and also a dab on the lips is great too. Well worth the price tag of around £16. An award winning cream blush.

Princess of fashion

Excuse the tabloid style choice of heading! I am just really passionate about someone giving our royalty some kudos in the style ratings. Of course, I am talking about Kate Middleton, I mean unfortunately Beatrice and Eugenie do not cut the mustard...you do remember those hats?........

As a massive fan of turquoise i was fond of her recent beauty of a dress

How very glam the white dress above is and do not get me obsessing on the shoes, my eyes widen at every sight of them. The jewellery is rarely understated and I love it, why go plain when you attend so many important events, I loved these earrings paired with the smart dress and funky belt.

She is never complete without a cute matching clutch, the girl accesorises to the hilt! Do I even need to tell you what is right about this outfit? It is stunning! Some perplum some beautiful turqouise adornments and well done on the make up, those eyes stand out as much as the dress.

This lady is also a fan of the high street shops so she really is representing all you well dressed Brits, go Kate!

Blake Lively

The Gossip Girl costume crew give her the best wardrobe and she looks just as stylish out of work, we are today praising Blake Lively but first lets see a few shockers as we love to know that noone is perfect. Blake may have got the outfit below straight off the catwalk but where has her waist gone. And doesnt she know shiny and red is just too much to get away with, keep away from street corners girl!

Yes it is unique and i love the shirt and its fit but sorry the rest is terrible! euch, i cannot even get into the shorts, or the belt guys so lets move onto why she rocks! Blake tends to suit and go for two types of looks young and girly- with on trend styles mixed with loosely plaited hair or the smart Chanel-ish, what I think of as European look. Whichever it is she is never afraid to flash those pins or that cleavage. I loved this vamp look she showcased last year
